Replacement Bridge

Location: , Lochearnhead (Scotland, United Kingdom)

At Craggan, between Balquidder Station and Lochearnhead, NCN Route 7 follows the route of the old Lochearnhead, St Fillans and Comrie Railway, before climbing steeply up the hillside to join the trackbed of the old Callander and Oban. This modern structure replaces the Kendrum viaduct, spanning the gorge of the Kendrum Burn that flows into Loch Earn.

This bridge was built raised with funds in memory of a cyclist killed nearby on the A9 road. It's a shame that in this country cyclists have to die before really god quality infrastructure like this is considered.

Taken on a 770 mile cycle tour of Scotland, from my front door in Edinburgh to Dunnet Head, the most northerly point in mainland Britain.
